It consists of twelve variations based on the well-known French song 'Ah! vous dirai-je, maman'. The original French melody dates back to 1761 and has been used in numerous children's songs such as 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star', 'Baa, Baa, Black Sheep', and the 'Alphabet Song'. Mozart composed this piece specifically for solo piano, with tempo indications provided only for the final two variations, which are Adagio and Allegro respectively. High-quality Engraving.
