Albumblatt für Frau Betty Schott is a token of gratitude to the patroness and widow of the music publisher Franz Schott from Mainz. It contains, albeit hidden, reminiscences of motifs from the 'Mastersingers'. This lovely character piece is also Wagner's last work for piano.
