Owing to their tunefulness they are also enjoyed by students. While Wohlfahrt andother representatives of the older Violin school used the traditional order of teaching, passing from 1st position to 3rd and leaving out 2nd, which was probably considered more difficult, the steady and successive teaching of allthe positions has been thought advisable in the present edition of the studies. Thus after the 1st position, the 2nd was introduced, choosing those studies from the present opus number, in which the fingering exclusively inthisposition was used.
