The challenge was to compose a trio honouring the principals of Peace, Democracy, and Hope for our planet.  In my efforts to do so I have tried to keep the style as melodious, harmonious and traditional as I could.  Wishing to include an element of spirituality I have partly used a Byzantine Music inspired mode in the first part,  and a hymn-like, bucolic melody in the second half.  The melancholic atmosphere permeating the whole piece should speak for itself... The composer is a member of TONO, the Norwegian Copyright org.
