It requires two conductors.Each heroine is represented by one conductor, one choir and half of the orchestra--Tubman has woodwinds, brass and percussion and Lakshmibai is accompanied by harp, piano and stringsThe work was commissioned by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with the University of Maryland Concert Choir. The world premiere performance of the work took place on 14 March 2019 at The Music Center at Strathmore, Baltimore (USA), conducted by Marin Alsop and Valentina Peleggi.The full score (EP 73312) is available for sale as part of the Peters Contemporary Library.
