About this arrangement

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Organ,Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.802918 Composed by Marcello-Bach. Arranged by Mike Carson. Baroque. Score and parts. 15 pages. Mike Carson #5793807. Published by Mike Carson (A0.802918). This hauntingly mesmerizing piece was originally the second movement from a concerto for oboe and strings by Alessandro Marcello. Johann Sebastian Bach adapted it for keyboard (BWV 974), which was a common practice of the day. Considered a compliment when composers transcribed other composers' instrumental music for keyboard, transcriptions took concert music to the home for personal enjoyment and performance. In this setting, with the addition of the organ and very few alterations of the keyboard part, the arranger has made this stirring music available for church, weddings, funerals, or any other appropriate occasion. This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
