Fire, police, the military, sanitation workers and of course our doctors and nurses. This is the sequel to my first piece, “2020 Heroes” now that we have prevailed over the virus.The brilliant work by our scientists and the ever endurance of the people in America that faced hardships and still were at work each day.  The battle!We start out with the exploding drums. A march fanfare and the agitated feel of a battle at measure 14. This gives way to the dolce section at measure 17 but the desperate feeling is still with us. However, some good news abounds by measure 23. Hope eternal, a hymn brings us nearer to God, and the final triumph! Light begins to shine with our main theme at measure 38. But the pandemic lingers on at 55 until the battle is over.A pressing feel gives way to better times at measure 58 as we hear the hymn to God. The triumpfic brass at 76 brings the final victory and at 79 we enter into the Maestoso final measuers!Grade level 3+ due to range and difficult rhythms.                                                                                                                                                   E.
