The Koninklijke Harmonie Sint-Aloysius of Alken commissioned this concert march; the occasion was the 100th anniversary of the concert band. Aldacum is stylistically reminiscent of John Williams’ film scores, and will surely also appeal to a wide audience. De naam Aldacum (elzenbos) dateert uit de van de Romeinse overheersing en is de Latijnse benaming van het bierdorpje Alken in de Belgische provincie Limburg. Deze concertmars is geschreven in opdracht van de Koninklijke HarmonieSint-Aloysius uit Alken, ter gelegenheid van het honderdjarig bestaan van het orkest.
