Published by Imagine Music Publishing (IG.IMS191). 9 x 12 in inches.This transcription of the simple, elegant, and haunting slow movement from Beethoven's 7th symphony adapts the full symphonic work for a large double reed ensemble, suitable for symposiums and double-reed-themed events or for chamber ensembles with a large number of double reed players. The movement has been slightly truncated, with only one iteration of the B theme rather than the original two, to make performances less difficult in terms of endurance while still introducing all of the main musical ideas. There are also instrumental parts in this transcription that are purposefully less difficult, to allow ensemble members of varied ability levels to all participate together. This transcription was originally made for use at the annual USA Double Reed Day at the University of South Alabama.
