Flégier is principally known as havng composed the famous song for bass and orchestra “Le Cor”, but he also wronte more than 300 works for piano, (including a concerto), many songs, an opéra-comique “Fatima", the oratorio "Ossian" and many chamber works, including the first “dixtuor” for wind quintet and string quintet.This work is a movement from the composer's Fantaisie-Ballet for orchestra, arranged by the composer in the form of a classical "adage".  The rest of the work is unfortunately lost.
