The Arab world as we know it is made up of 22 countries that have a very rich culture of both music and dance. The people of that region share a common history yet are in many ways diverse and practice a variety of religions including Muslim, Christian and Jewish. Many immigrants have come to the United States from the Arab world and are now thoroughly integrated into many regions of the country. Arabic Dance is a musical representation of the sounds and rhythms that commonly appear in the music and dances of the Arab World. It is highly percussive throughout and incorporates hand drums and handclaps.
