One of these pieces was As the Sun Sets for saxophone choir. With the request for a ballad and the sound and style of my good friend, Bob Fuson, in mind, I set out to write a piece that incorporates elements of jazz. As the Sun Sets was premiered by the University of Nebraska saxophone choir with the composer guest conducting.
