When the piece was completed in February, the coronavirus epidemic seemed like a distant threat, but only one month later all concerts were cancelled and the piece has yet to premiere. When the music is being published, the pandemic is still upon us, and our Ave Maria has not yet had an opportunity to ring out in public, but I hope that it will bring joy to others nevertheless. - David Aberg, January 2021.
