SKU: FV.FUE-7009 Composed by Wilhelmine von Bayreuth. Edited by 2001. 2CDs. Furore Verlag #FUE 7009. Published by Furore Verlag (FV.FUE-7009). ISBN SAL 7009.When Wilhelmine (1709-1758), the first-born daughter of the Soldier King Frederick William I, moved to the residence in Bayreuth in 1732, as the wife of the heir to the throne, Frederick, she brought with her the mindset and tradition of the famous Brandenburg-Prussian court orchestra. She began to perform chamber music and scenic cantatas in the great hall of the palace in Bayreuth and in St. Georgen am See, which were, however, only the first steps on the way to the opera performances that she organized as of 1737, assuming the roles of both composer, librettist, harpsichord player, coach and artistic director. She combined the Italian opera with classical French elements of style. In 1739/40 she had margrave George William's opera and ballroom rebuilt and converted into a spacious theater.
