String Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.929334 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Bob Mathews. Celtic,Holiday,Love,World. 13 pages. Bob Mathews #6326057. Published by Bob Mathews (A0.929334). This is an arrangement of this lovely Irish air for string solo.  It also has an optional piano and bass clef obligato.  The lyrics for this were written by the Irish poet Thomas Moore.  Moore wrote the poem for his wife who would not come out of her room after being scarred by smallpox.  He set the poem to this old air and sang it for her while standing outside her room.  It convinced her to come out of her room and rekindled their romance.  This is a very nice song to play for any occasion. This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
