About this arrangement

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.953837 Composed by Haydn Reeder. Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 4 pages. Haydn Reeder #4576017. Published by Haydn Reeder (A0.953837). This is the second piece of a set of three. It is quite short. The other two pieces are titled Moving Between and Drama. The three pieces may be played separately or as a set. The following is a program note from the first performance. Written in 2012, this piece stems from an idea for a potentially long piece for orchestra. There is obvious reference to the title in the repeated time signatures and dynamics and the thick texture highlights another possibility of this instrumentation.  This movement for string quartet has turned out to be quite short, probably because the opening harmony develops a strong presence either by interrupting or becoming a point of return and also, being a symmetrical chord, it has a calming effect especially in this context. This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
