Guitar, Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1406050 Composed by Gabriel Faure (1845-1924). Arranged by Clive Lane. This edition: audio, pdf. 19th Century, Classical. 17 pages. Clive Lane #989141. Published by Clive Lane (A0.1406050). This gorgeous piece is one of Fauré's most famous works, originally for choir and piano (or organ). First published: 1865 (keyboard version, Schoen) I have arranged it here for guitar duet. Score and parts. The text of the original piece is a French translation, by the 17th century French dramatist Jean Racine, of a medieval Latin hymn, Consors paterni luminis. When Gabriel Fauré set the translation to music, he gave it the title Cantique de Jean Racine, rather than the title of the original hymn. This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
