About this arrangement

Concert band concert band - Grade 4 SKU: BF.BM1036-SCORE From the L'Arlésienne Suite No.1. Composed by Georges Bizet. Arranged by Jos van de Braak. Baton Music orchestral series. Full score. Baton Music #BM1036-SCORE. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM1036-SCORE). Georges Bizet composed 'L'Arlésienne' as incidental music to Alphonse Daudet's play of the same name, usually translated as 'The Girl from Arles'. The incidental music has survived and flourished, however, it is most often heard in the form of two suites for orchestra, but has also been recorded complete. 'Carillon' is the fourth and last movement of the first suite. To suggest the sound of bells in this movement, Bizet added special brass chords to it. Dutch arranger Jos van de Braak transcribed this movement for Symphonic Band.
