Instrumental Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1182797 Composed by Turlough O'carolan. Arranged by Chris Webster. Celtic,Folk,Irish. Individual part. 3 pages. Chris Webster #782540. Published by Chris Webster (A0.1182797). Brighid Cruis is one of the most hauntingly beautiful Irish harp airs. It is expressive of melancholy, lost love, and O'Carolan's feelings for Brighid. This arrangement uses many open strings and campanella effects to suggest the harp - though O'Carolan's harp was brass strung (don't try it on your uke!). It begins with an introduction followed by the melody and chords. The next section is a harmonisation, and the final section is a fingerpicking variation. The piece is not unduly difficult, being mainly in the nut position, though the last bar goes up to the 15th fret. The notation is in G C E F, though the tab is suitable for any re-entrant-tuned ukulele.
