About this arrangement

Organ - Medium Difficult/Difficult SKU: PL.0632 Composed by Robert Lind. General, Hymn. Sheet music. Paraclete Press #0632. Published by Paraclete Press (PL.0632). Commissioned by Paraclete, these hymn tune preludes, based on "Rosedale" and "Land of Rest", are artfully composed, with attention to the texts of the hymns. This collection is a musthave for every organist's library. The Voluntary on "Rosedale" pays harmonic homage to one of Mr. Lind's teachers, Leo Sowerby, who is also the composer of the tune "Rosedale." Here one will find many of the typical Sowerby harmonies; this work is very approachable and fairly easy to read and learn. The registration is simple and very adaptable. The overal form is a crescendo to the end. The second voluntary on "Land of Rest" is a good addition to the repertory for this hymn tune. Again, it presents a growing crescendo to the end and some wonderful harmony that makes full use of the organ's string stops. - "The Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicans" March 2006.
