This arrangement is designed for any group of four bass clef instruments of which the lowest can reach C2 in concert pitch, e.g.:3 trombones, bass trombone3 trombones, tuba2 trombones, euphonium, tuba4 bassoons4 cellos3 cellos, double bassMixed ensemblesThe 1st part is mostly within the octave F3-F4, with some limited extension downwards to C3.The 2nd part is mostly within the octave D3-D4, with some limited extension downwards to A2.The 3rd part is mostly within the octave Bb2-Bb3, with some limited extension downwards to F2.The 4th part is mostly within the octave C2-C3, with some optional extension downwards to F1 (which can be transposed up an octave if necessary).After a bright introduction, the verse and chorus melody is shared between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd parts, with the 4th providing a rhythmic and harmonic bass. Different rhythmic and dynamic textures provide contrast, before an original coda section offers a slightly greater challenge with rhythmically more independent parts - great for extending the skills of your ensemble!
