They are dressed in brightly-colored costumes as they dance around the circle. Purpose: This later elementary composition was written so a student may enjoy playing in a steady rhythm with accents and an occasional surprise place for lively finger work. Suggestions for Instruction: Before the student begins to play this selection, have the student notice that every line is repeated. Each line is a short dance, and each dance grows a little more complicated than the previous one. The rhythm is steady and bold throughout the piece until reaching line "F" where the tempo increases. On line "G" (the last dance), both the tempo and volume increase to the end. Key: D Dorian.
