I decided to call the piece Clouds because even though it’s written in C major, the tonicizations and the eleventh chords present make the key signature of the piece sound ambiguous. For me personally, I saw these two concepts going hand in hand with the sensation of floating. My main goal in writing this piece was to undermine traditional harmony without delving into the realm of atonal music. Please note that quarter note equals eighty is the suggested tempo.
