SATB choir, Flute and organ - Medium/Medium Difficult SKU: PL.0709 Composed by Robert J. Powell. Choral, Chant, Hymn, Pentecost. Octavo. Paraclete Press #0709. Published by Paraclete Press (PL.0709). * based on the chant "Veni creator spiritus", with organ and flute * choir begins with four-part a cappella setting reminiscent of Durufle * each verse has a different voicing with a nicely contrasting organ part * could be used as an introduction to chant as well as a study in legato and rhythm * could be used as an introit or anthem for Pentecost, or as an introduction to the hymnA flute part is included on the back cover and primarily consists of flowing eighth notes. The music moves into various meters such as 15/8, 11/8 to help accentuate the flowing style; however, it is not difficult. The organ part, on two staves, doubles the voices in places that often have a chant-like texture. Lovely music. - "The Diapason" April 2007.
