An early version of Tanz-Intermezzo is included as an appendix. In addition, a fragment illustrating the unrealized plan of a symphonic poem called "Luonnotar", which Sibelius reworked into Pohjolas Tochter, appears as a facsimile. Musik zu einer Szene is now published for the first time. Except for Pohjolas Tochter, all the works were composed for a choreographic purpose, (sub-)titled or referred to as "dance intermezzos," or related to opus 45.
