Two Horns and Symponic Band - Grade 4 SKU: BF.BM1209-SET In E-flat major, M.C56. Composed by Antonio Rosetti. Arranged by Bruno Peterschmitt. Baton Music instrumental series. Full Score and set of parts. Baton Music #BM1209-SET. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM1209-SET). Francesco Antonio Rosetti (1750 – 1792) was a German-Czech composer and a contemporary of Haydn and Mozart. Rosetti wrote over 400 compositions, primarily instrumental music including many symphonies and concertos which were widely published. Music historians include Rosetti amongst the most popular composers of his period. Today, Rosetti is perhaps best known for his horn concertos, which may have been a model for Mozart's four horn concertos. The ‘Concerto for 2 Horns’ (MC 56, E-flat Major) is one of the most well known of these concerto’s. For a long time, this concerto was attributed to Joseph Haydn but strong evidence (thematic, structure, instrumentation) suggests it was written by Antonio Rosetti. French arranger Bruno Peterschmitt transcribed this double concerto for 2 horns with accompaniment of a Symphonic Band.
