Mvt II is inspired by classical games like Castlevania, Metroid, Mario Bros. etc. Mvt III is inspired by funk music (and video game music generally).Originally a sonata for tuba and piano, I have now arranged it for contrabassoon and piano. A big shout out to pro contrabassoon player, Richard Bobo, for giving excellent suggestions on making the piece more playable for contrabassoon (transposing the piece down a fourth helped).
