Avoroes, maurischer Philosoph, Maimonides, jüdischer Philosoph, Abu Hassan Hazm, arabischer Universalgelehrter, lebten in dieser Stadt. Die “Hagia Sophia” in Konstantinopel, zuerst mehrere Jahrhunderte christliche Kirche, dann mehrere Jahrhunderte Moschee und die “Mezquita” in Cordoba, zuerst mehrere Jahrhunderte Moschee, dann mehrere Jahrhunderte christliche Kirche, haben etwas gemeinsam: sie sind Symbol für den interreligiösen Dialog.
