Franco Cesarini had the opportunity to attend performances by an ethnic group of Cossacks from Kuban. He was deeply touched by the beauty of the songs and traditional dances of the Cossacks and has written this work for concert band which faithfully retains the essential spirit of this seductive music. Wilde ruiter- en wapenspelen maar ook meeslepende dansen en melancholische liederenbehoren tot hun cultuurgoed. Tijdens zijn reis door Rusland vond Franco Cesarini in de schoonheid van de liederen en de traditionele dansen de inspiratie voor een werk in deze stijl. Zur Kultur der Kosaken gehören wilde Reiter- und Waffenspiele ebenso wie mitreißende Tänze und bewegende, melancholische Lieder. Der Komponist Franco Cesarini ließ sich auf einer Russlandreise von der Schönheit der Lieder und traditionellen Tänze zu einem Arrangement für Blasorchester inspirieren, das den Geist dieser faszinierenden Musik authentisch wiedergibt.Les Cosaques formaient un peuple de braves guerriers. Ils étaient les descendants de paysans-soldats enrôlés par le pouvoir central de Russie, entre les XVe et XVIIe siècles, pour défendre les frontières de l’Empire des incursions dévastatrices des hordes tatares. Profondément touché par la beauté des chants et danses traditionnels des Cosaques du Kouban, Franco Cesarini en a réalisé un arrangement pour orchestre d’harmonie qui conserve le caractère authentique de cette musique au charme indicible.Nel corso di un viaggio in Russia, Franco Cesarini ha avuto l’occasione di assistere alle esibizioni di un gruppo folcloristico di cosacchi di Kuban.
