Ich widmete es dem Gedenken der barbarischen Sprengung der Leipziger Universitätskirche durch den Beschluss des Politbüros der SED und die darauffolgende Entscheidung der damaligen Universitätsleitung. Bei der Uraufführung auf der Sommerreise des "Leipziger Vokalkreises" ließ ich mich durch Michael Gläser vertreten, da ich zur selben Zeit die Chance hatte, am Mozarteum in Salzburg einen Dirigierkurs zu belegen. Da das Werk den Chorsängern etwas Mühe machte, nannten sie es Strapazem.
