Fanfarra Ciclópica is inserted in the cycle "Imaginary Beings", being the 5th composition of this cycle. It is based on the story of Ulysses and his men when confronted with the Cyclops Polyphemus. It was written for the 1st Academy of Metals of the Symphonic Orchestra of Porto Casa da Música, and was premiered in 2013 by the septet of metals of the Symphony Orchestra based at the institution.
