Bass clarinet quartet SKU: A7.ALEA1157 Composed by Johannes Brahms. Classical. Score and parts. Alea Publishing #ALEA1157. Published by Alea Publishing (A7.ALEA1157). Johannes Brahms composed the Five Songs for men's choir, Op. 41, in 1861-62, during a time when the composer was writing a great deal of choral music. These five short and relatively simple songs display a range of moods and tempos, as well as the composer's beautiful writing for low voices. This transcription for bass clarinet quartet remains authentic to the original work, conveniently placing the bass clarinetists in very comfortable keys and range. Extended-range instruments are not required. The set would make for excellent teaching material for young students, effective ensemble contest pieces, or a lovely addition to a concert program.
