All had fascinating stories, which they had told for the thousandth time or for some, for the first time. Those moving stories were the basis for writing Flights of Passage. The piece is programmatic in nature, with six segments depicting the various "passages" that all Americans experienced in some way, both overseas and here at home. The six segments are Innocence, One Nation, Conflict, The Telegram, Remembrance, and One Nation, Indivisible.
