Piano (Piano solo) - Henle Level 6-7 SKU: HL.51481304 Edition with Fingering. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Rudolf Steglich. Arranged by Hans-Martin Theopold. Sheet Music. Paperbound. Henle Music Folios. Classical. Softcover. 24 pages. G. Henle #HN1304. Published by G. Henle (HL.51481304). ISBN 9790201813042. UPC: 888680682927. 9.25x12.0x0.086 inches. In 1735 Johann Sebastian Bach published his French Overture BMV 831 together with the famous Italian Concerto as the second part of his “Clavier-Ubung.” The designation Ouvertüre (Overture) can be somewhat misleading, since this work consists not just of an opening movement but also of a full-fledged partita with 11 movements: Ouverture, Courante, Gavotte I & II, Passepied I & 11, Sarabande, Bouree I & II, Gigue and Echo. In terms of melodic richness and rhythmic play it is on par with its sister-pieces from Part I of the “Clavier Ubung”, the 6 Partitas BMV 825-830.
