This song is inspired by Scott Joplin's Ragtime works in the early 20th century, with a little bit of a carnival twist. My original inspiration for this song was that Scott Joplin never wrote any ragtime in the key of A major, and I wanted to play some ragtime in the key of A major. This song won first place in it's division at the MTAC's Composer's Today contest.This is the first movement of the Festival Suite, more coming soon.
