Relations and time units are used purposefully together with tension and relaxation of chordal development. Tempo relationships are used in this duo in an extremely formative way, whereby substantial increases in tempo provide the main difficulty in terms performance. The piece was written for the saxophone virtuoso Peter Rohrsdorfer, who teaches at the Bruckner University in Linz.
