About this arrangement

Concert band Choir and concert band - Grade 3 SKU: BF.BM1161-SET Coro della Processione from the Opera I Lombardi. Composed by Giuseppe Verdi. Arranged by Gerard Posch. Baton Music vocal series. Full Score and set of parts. Baton Music #BM1161-SET. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM1161-SET). I Lombardi' (or I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata, The Lombards on the First Crusade) is an operatic lyric drama in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto by Temistocle Solera, based on an epic poem by Tommaso Grossi, which was 'very much a child of its age; 'a grand historical novel with a patriotic slant'. The 'Coro della Processione' is sung in the 1st scene of the third act: "Gerusalem, Gerusalem, la grande, La promessa città!" (Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the great, The Promised City!). This ‘Coro’ is now transcribed by Dutch arranger Gerard Posch for Choir and Symphonic Band.
