About this arrangement

SKU: GI.G-005310 Christmas. Sacred. GIA Publications #005310. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-005310). This setting is the perfect way to introduce your parish to a new Gloria text during the Christmas season. Written in 1990 by well-known composer Brother Howard Hughes, SM, it was adapted for the 2011 translation by Alan Hommerding. Featuring the beloved refrain "Gloria in Excelsis Deo" from "Angels We Have Heard on High", the seting has simple and accessible verses in chant style that your cantors will learn quickly. The third verse and final refrain feature an optional descant, and the final refrain has an alternate harmony. The accompaniment is accessible for both organ and piano, and includes chord symbols for guitarists.
