This is an energetic and catchy Christmas anthem, suitable for all ages, but particularly for younger voices singing in school and church choirs. The words are based on Biblical accounts of the shepherds as they are entranced by the news of Christ's birth, brought to them by the heavenly host (Luke 2:13). The verses are in unison and there is a descant part in the choruses. The anthem can be performed with piano accompaniment, and there is also an optional separate trumpet part which adds a "glorious" sheen and helps to set the atmosphere. Alternatively, a backing track (available separately) can accompany the voices without the need for additional instruments. This is a short score of just the vocal parts.
