Concert band Soprano voice and concert band - Grade 4 SKU: BF.BM899-SCORE From the Opera Die tote Stadt. Composed by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. Arranged by Jos van de Braak. Baton Music vocal series. From the Opera Die tote Stadt. Full score. Baton Music #BM899-SCORE. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM899-SCORE). Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957) was an Austrian-born composer and conductor. In 1920 Korngold composed 'Die tote Stadt', an opera in three acts to a libretto by Paul Schott, a collective pseudonym for the composer and his father, Julius Korngold. The opera is based on the 1892 novel 'Bruges-la-Morte' by Georges Rodenbach. In the first act of the opera, the main characters Paul and Marietta sing the duet 'Glück das mir verblieb'. This duet became immense popular as a concert aria where a soprano sings both parts. Dutch arranger Jos van de Braak transcribed this wonderful aria for soprano with accompaniment of a Symphonic Band.
