These guitar arrangements of the Spanish dances are highly faithful to the original in every way and through a new proposal for tuning the open strings, it is possible to play all 12 Spanish dances, mainly some of the dances that have never been satisfactorily transcribed for solo guitar. These arrangements deal with the process of transcribing for guitar the 12 Spanish dances Op. 37 by Enrique Granados, originally written for piano. This process was developed through observation of guitar versions of other original piano works and comparisons between the specific characteristics of these two instruments, where the main problems of adapting the musical and aesthetic elements of the original work were analyzed. To contextualize this work in transcription tradition, the history of Granados was researched, analyzing the general aspects of its Spanish dances and different tunings on the guitar were used to make this work viable.
