About this arrangement

Concert band concert band - Grade 3 SKU: BF.BM1126-SCORE Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Martin Jorge. Baton Music orchestral series. Full score. Baton Music #BM1126-SCORE. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM1126-SCORE). French composer Erik Satie is mainly known for his ‘Gymnopédies’, a composition of three piano works completed in April 1888. The work's unusual title comes from the French form of ‘gymnopaedia’, the ancient Greek word for an annual festival where young men danced naked – or perhaps simply unarmed. Uruguayan arranger Martin Jorge transcribed the most well know of the set, ‘Gymnopédie I’, for Symphonic Band.
