About this arrangement

Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.919146 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by Vanessa Klassen. Baroque,Christmas,Sacred. 33 pages. Vanessa Klassen #6656885. Published by Vanessa Klassen (A0.919146). George Frideric Handel was a German, later British composer, regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era. He composed Messiah, an English oratorio, in 1741. The text derives from the King James Bible as it depicts the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ. Messiah has become one of the most well-known and frequently performed choral works of all time. Perhaps the most recognizable movement is the Hallelujah Chorus, the finale of Part II of the oratorio. The original instrumentation of the Hallelujah Chorus was for four-part chorus, trumpets, timpani, and strings. Mozart, among other composers, have since expanded the orchestration for a larger-scale production. This arrangement for clarinet choir has been adapted from Handel’s original. The chorus is primarily featured in Clarinets 3, 4, 5, and Alto, while the other five parts are adapted from the orchestral parts.
