The title comes from the German words describing the three types of instruments used by each of the five performers: skin, metal, and wood. It is a high-energy piece that includes extreme dynamic contrasts, intricate grooves, and featured moments for each of the performers. Musical motifs passed between performers and interlocking rhythms throughout the composition make this quintet a fun challenge for performers.This piece was written in 2019 for the Rogers Middle School Percussion Ensemble from Prosper, Texas, under the direction of Mr. Shane Snyder and was premiered on March 5th, 2020.Haut Metall Holz comes as a professionally printed and bound score and includes individual parts in PDF format for printing or for tablet viewing.
