The first movement, Cathedral, is meant to suggest a person arising in the morning and being grateful to live in such a beautiful environ. It is based on the hymn tune Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing. The second movement is meant to suggest a walk in the redwoods that abound in California's North Coast. The final movement suggests a walk along the many beautiful beaches of the area on a bright sunny day. Parts are included. The performance time for all three movements is approximately 10 minutes or less.
