A Percussion Game for 2 or more Players + ConductorPlayers compete with each other to create the perfect storm in this aleatoric, experimental piece of music. A card based piece of music for ANY instrumentation you can imagine! Players draw increasingly complex ostinato cards and chain them together, resulting in an ever evolving, always different, and definitely chaotic piece of music. Other cards are drawn that award bonus points and modify the music being played by changing dynamics, adding rests, and much more! Players must obtain and correctly perform a required amount of cards, plus reach a score of 160 to win. Hurricane! 's ostinato cards range from beginner level (Category 1) all the way to insanely difficult (Category 5). The rules can be modified to fit any skill level, making the game accessible to any ensemble. Hurricane! is a great piece of music for groups that enjoy the element of chance in their music. Since it is a card based piece with limitless instrumentation possibilities, every performance will sound different.
