In the second verse, it build intensity: "Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come..." The key changes to B-flat major and transitions to a simpler style for the second hymn, "Does Jesus Care?" It returns to the key of D-flat for the final triumphant verse: "And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight..."
