Brumley in 1933.  Brumley, more widely known for his songs "I’ll Fly Away" and "Rank Stranger", is an iconic figure from the Old Time Gospel Singin’s in the 1930’s. The tune name: "As I travel through this pilgrim land" gives a hint to the lyrics. It goes on to say, "There is a Friend who walks with me.  For I need Thy light to guide me day & night. Blessed Jesus, hold my hand."This arrangement captures the feelings of comfort and joy found in the old Gospel songs, yet with a modern twist.
