This sheet music is notated for 8-note (one octave, C major diatonic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble. Included in this set of scores is a 3-page combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 2-page, 1-staff score for each instrument.This arrangement requires one set of each instrument plus a set of octavator caps for the Boomwhackers®. The CHORUS uses only the 8-notes in the C to C diatonic scale, however, the VERSE requires 3 octavator caps for notes G, A, and B played by the Boomwhackers® during measures 19 through 31 (the score indicates when to add and remove the caps). The Handbells play the melody for the CHORUS while the Boomwhackers® provide rhythmic 2-note chords. For the VERSE, the Boomwhackers® play the melody while the Handbells provide single-note harmony. Only quarter rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. This set of scores uses black and white noteheads and is best suited for musicians already familiar with reading standard music notation (or if you don’t have access to a color printer). For beginning musicians, this same set of scores is available (sold separately) with color coded noteheads.The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned up to three notes for a total group size of 6 players. For beginners, it is best to assign one or two notes to each person. At one or two notes per person, a group of 8 to 16 players would be required.
