Not only was he was a pop saxophonist playing at Lido, Moulin-Rouge and Folies Bergere, he was a teacher at several conservatories around Paris and often a juror at Saxophone performance competitions throughout Europe. Lacour started composing in 1963 and many of his later works have become standard repertoire for concerts and contests around the world.
